check in here ♥
Have I mentioned that I love Fridays?
We enjoyed a little preFriday celebration @ our favorite place. Good friends, wine, coffee, sweets, laughing, knitting: shall I go on?
And of course I am still working on my sweater. It's coming along pretty fast. I'm still surprised I chose blue. I must be subconciously taking my friends advice & expanding my colour palette.
Just think: ice cold drinks galore, pool toy storage, SPF 50 products, hammock storage etc. C'mon, this would be so cool in a semi-junior high/adult sorta way right?
Not to mention a secret place for much needed naps in the Fall.
Imagine... Falling alseep to the sound of leaves dancing in the tree above and the faint sound of the Water for Elephants soundtrack playing...
It has been so nice not having to be anywhere specific today, just here ♥
Have a lovely Friday everyone!
It was so nice to see Bryhannon's car here when I pulled into the driveway. I miss my girl ♥
No sooner do I pull up and it's: Mom, what's for dinner?
Still working on zee blue sweater. It's coming along ~ I actually knitted up one full hank of yarn last night. Now, if I could just do that every night, I could be done by SUNDAY! Keep your fingers crossed, you know me, anything is possible :)
I saw this on Pinterest and absolutely loved it. It's so fitting for my life these days. I will make this very tag and attach it to my backpack when I go to Spain.
Have a great day everyone. Make something special out of something plain. Look for the beauty. Give of yourself & show others how it feels to shine...
See joo tomorrow,
Spanish for Wednesday, the sound of this word makes me think of miracles. I feel better already!
Been working away at the blue sweater & am anxiously awaiting somewhere to visit that requires it. There has to be somewhere in the continental US that gets chilly in the evening time!
You can find the pattern here.
Did I mention I casted on the 2nd sock of this lovely pair? I can't help it... my hands have this dire need to constantly be busy; knitting in this case. Dishes can & will wait.
BTW: I've had my eye on this little beauty as well; Lord knows I'd use it. MmHmm, yes I would. It's kind of a Mary Poppins - meets - chic necessity.
Conveniently it doubles as an overnight bag for those folks that are fond of day trippers.
Well gals, duty calls.
Have a wonderful wednesday!
Happy Tuesday Everyone :)
I need a real pair of these.
As you know I have been working on this sweater and decided to stray just for a bit to finish up this little project that has been waiting.
Keep in mind, I'm not really up on the whole embroidery thing. I was going for simple.
*The pattern can be found right here :)
Lazy little flowers sway on the front of this little bag. Initially these were gonna be dandelions. I went a bit longer in the round to allow for having a deeper bag. The best part of this bag is that it was all made from scraps of wool; the embroidery was done with scraps also :)
In between hanks of blue cotton, I thought it would be a good idea to knock out some of the projects I have nearly finished; except for the finishing work of course. You know what I mean; weaving ends in & tieing off e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g.
Time to hit the ground running, see ya tomorrow!
This weekend was quite busy: a visit to/from Mom's house, dinner with the gal's, knitting of course & a lovely Father's Day to follow. Now, I find myself back at Monday!
For those of you following the capelet-turned-sweater project, I am officially on hank #4 of yarn :)
There is about 4 inches knitted under the arm so far. I had hopes of actually being done by today, but you know me, I had to switch it up for a few hours and then return back to the sweater :)
So I finished this. You guessed it: My favorite quicky for scraps ~ you can find the pattern here ♥. I know it's a bit Fall, but here in the desert, it's easy to develop a greater appreciation for the cooler seasons.
It seems like I always have 3-4 projects going at a time. Casting on for new projects is addicting :)
For those of you that were asking, yes, I have a 2nd blog. It's approached a bit differently than this one, their purpose seem to call for separate spaces. They may intersect at some point, but not yet.
Well, I'm off...
Must get the have-to's out of the way so I can hurry and get to the would-love-to's.
Here's to a powerful Monday!
In the meantime: you guessed it :) You can find the pattern here ♥
Love it this idea so much, it may finds it's way into my blue sweater. We'll see. For those of you joining me on my knitting adventure: My hope is that by Monday morning, I will have made significant progress.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
BTW: With the help of my daughter, the pumpkins have been successfully transferred outside. However, just to be on the safe side I planted one seed today that will only be grown inside.
For those of you following the capelet-turned-sweater progress, I knitted for 2 hours straight last night and can now say, I am on my 2nd hank of yarn!
The day is calling for a mix of have-to's and want-to's. Gonna get started :/
Have a great day everyone~
I love this website. So many talented people in one place! I ran across this photograph looking for something else and was taken back. A sort of Lord of the Rings meets Tinkerbell. Just thought I would share: You can order prints etc...
Needle News: I'm doing it. I am actually going to buy the Addi turbo set. My projects seem to fly by, literally. My blue started-out-with-a-caplet-pattern-turned-into-a-sweater-pattern is coming along very well. I will be posting this pattern and it's details once finished: Dare I say Sunday? In the meantime I used all of these ideas to make this one: #1, #2 & #3.
Did I mention she & her husband are having triplets? An exciting time for everyone indeed :)
Now I'm off to begin the day. Weather man has not changed his story: 108 for the high. Ugh.
Did I mention how much I'm looking forward to Fall?
Would ♥ to know what your up to today...
'Til tomorrow Lovies,
Our day began at True Food Kitchen, super yummy & good-for-you food! We then proceeded onto Knit Happens. I love this store. How is it that we can be so focused on knitting yet still have the brain-power to contribute to the conversation going on at the table??? We must be that awesome, yes, I think so.
I came home to find a couple of projects staring me in the kisser: this being one of them...Soft milk cotton, of all colours, blue. For those of you that know me, this is a first. I'm heading for some kind of top-down sweater, perfect for late summer evenings that hint at Fall.
And, another wee project: baby lamb...
The pattern for this little one can be found here. I tried my best to eye-ball this but still recommend buying the pattern :) As you can see, it's still a work in progess. Her left arm is still on my needles...
In the midst of completing my finishing work (my favorite :/ ) I've decided to do my finishing work as I go along throughout the project. Cause I sure dont feel like doing it at the end :)
