To the Rescue!

I consider myself lucky to be 40 and never having had a flat tire - ever. When I've heard other people say they were late because they had a flat tire, I must admit thinking to myself:

".....Really???"

So in the midst of our holiday, guess who gets a flat? Better yet, look who came to the rescue...

 
 
Well, there you have it ~ so lucky  I say!

traveling

 

I simply love the idea of traveling. The thought of seeing something new, trying new foods and speaking the universal language of smiles, hand shakes, hugs.

My son traveled to Ireland for a second time during this past summer with his cousin Gabrielle; this time for 10 days. The weather was beautiful, the local villages were warm & welcoming, the food was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s and the sights: well you can just imagine.

Dublin ---> Kilkenny ---> Cork ---> Cliffs of Moher ---> Belfast ---> Dublin. How wonderful!

As the holidays are quickly approaching, it makes me think of my own traveling plans. I would love to see what a snowy evening in London is like. Or a midnight mass on Christmas Eve in Spain. Perhaps 2011 will grant the opportunity of turning my wish list into my To-Do list.

Update: My 8-handmade-gifts-before-November-30th-goal is coming along quite nicely. All is coming together beautifully. The task has been made much easier by having good company. The studio has been a great space for gathering: to knit, do homework, discuss matters at hand and perhaps a mid-afternoon nap...

There is one thing for certain ~ Life can be unpredicable.

Some things to keep in mind:

1. Keep your gratitude handy.
2. Have a smile on your face.
3. Keep yourself in good company, always.

 
We now know where the saying between a rock & a hard spot came from; well, sort of. In the midst of our holiday cheer, this conversation takes place:

Dalton: Hey Mom, can you look at this? It hurts.

Me: Sure, what'cha got? (...my eyebrows drawn together...) You know what we need to do, right?

 A bit of minor surgery and he's all patched up. The island in the kitchen has served us well, for a number of things as it turns out.

 

 
Ah, the saving thing... which also happens to be on my list of things to do by Nov. 30th: Perfect!

 

 
Nothing better than spending time with all my Loves: this being one of them.
